Stress Management Training and Consultancy Services
Online Training
I'm changing the way I provide services, especially around provision of training and tools, to enable you to access them online. Please check out my new Thinkific site, to sign up for my online training mailing list. That way I'll be able to update you as soon as training courses are published.
In-house Training, Train-the-trainer and Consultancy
I'm gradually cutting back on delivery of face-to-face training, but will still have some capacity through 2020, so please do get in touch if you have a requirement. Even if I can't provide direct delivery, I'll be able to put you in touch with an excellent trainer who can. Mostly I work with expert trainers like psychologists who have both training experience and specialist knowledge.
If you are interested in train-the-trainer or would like to deliver my training and tools as a consultant, I would love to hear from you. Please use my contact form to get in touch, or email me directly.
My training is much more than stress mental health awareness training. I focus mainly on equipping managers with what they need to know and do to manage stress and mental health risks at work. There are some core aspects to this training around awareness, prevention, monitoring and responding, although typically the training is bespoke and tailored to client requirements. That is necessary because all organisations are unique, with for example their own ways of doing things and different support structures. Often I help my clients in an organisational sense (see below), with policy development, and then develop the training so that managers can successfully implement the organisation's policy on managing stress and mental health at work. This means that training is then aligned to the organisation's strategic mental health and wellbeing objectives.
Linked to the training work with clients, I also develop bespoke toolkits. These are typically for managers, who can access the toolkit after they've completed training, usually via their own intranet. The toolkit provides easy access to tools discussed on the course along with links to a wide range of additional resources.
Consultancy
My consultancy services cover mainly three areas:
Non-executive Director Work
I already do some non-exec work and am looking to help more boards with strategic advice around the management of stress and mental health risks. As a non-exec, I can help boards improve their accountability and transparency with regards to mental health performance. This will be increasingly necessary as work-related stress and mental health increasingly become compliance issues. I am able to mentor executive directors of HR and SHE to ensure that employee mental health is monitored and managed appropriately. I'm also able to help the board better understand the risks associated with stress and mental ill-health (which is not always work-related) and better manage those risks. These risks include health risks, business risks and legal risks.
Business Coaching and Mentoring
I provide a business mentoring service for professionals involved in stress management, workplace mental health and related fields. A main focus of this service is on support with marketing and business development, enabling improved profitability and business growth. Typically this is delivered via Skype.
Please contact me if you're interested in finding out more about any of the services above.
Thanks and best wishes, Alan Bradshaw, Business Psychologist

Consultancy
My consultancy services cover mainly three areas:
- Benchmarking an organisation's mental health performance. This looks at the organisation's whole approach to managing stress and mental health using a benchmarking tool I developed specifically for this task. The process involves key stakeholders in the organisation and results in the development of a report, which highlights what the organisation needs to do to improve performance and move towards best practice.
- Stress / mental health policy development. This typically invoves working with HR and SHE professionals on the development of a new policy or the enhancement of an existing one. The aim is develop a policy that fits the organisation but also moves the organisation in a direction of positive change. Usually, a key component is manager responsibilities and behaviours. The policy usually looks both at prevention and proactive approaches to managing risks, but also at what will be done (e.g. around support) when people are struggling and experiencing stress or mental health problems.
- Stress risk assessment and management. This service typically involves working with an organisation (and often with managers and teams) to complete a stress risk assessment and then manage those risks which are identified. Several years ago, I developed a set of tools specifically to help managers work with teams on this task. My input is usually to facilitate this activity using the tools.
